National Informatics Centre is the pioneer Government Organization in the field of Information Technology. In Gondia District, NIC's District Informatics Centre is came into existance in the year 1999 and is located in Collectorate Building.

The Centre has played major role in spreading Informatatics Culture among the Govt. Offices, staff and people in this Newly formed District by implementing various application packages for Collectorate, Zilla Parishad and other Govt. Offices, conducting Computer Awareness Trainings Programs and providing Satellite based E-mail facility.

The main objectives of Centre are;

To provide software support to the District Administration and other State Government offices.

Implementation of various application packages(Window and Linux O.S. based) such as payroll, tapal, Grievance Monitoring System, EGS, RRIS etc.

To create Informatics Culture.

To provide satellite based E-mail and Internet facility.

Technical support to various Govt. Offices.

Training on application packages to the revenue staff and others.

A.Collectorate Computerisation

In the Collectorate, Gondia, the independent computer system is installed at every section and the official work is being carried out over it. Most the staff from each section have taken the Computer Trainings and handle the computer sophistically.

At present, only reporting works are being carried out with the use of computers and most of the applications provided by NIC are being used at the Collectorate.

With the use of PCIS application software developed by NIC, Pune, the property cards in the district are got computerized. The status is as follow;

C. Training on Application packages and E-mail Connectivity

NIC Gondia always conducts the training sessions for the staff as well as Officers of District Collector Office, Zilla Parishad and other Government Offices on various application packages developed by NIC. Also conducts e-mail and internet course training
